Nine day tours and excursions from the city you are staying in, from the pyramids of Giza to Abu Simbel, a sunrise balloon over Luxor and a day on a Red Sea reef. Hotel pickup and drop-off are in every price, and the sightseeing tours are private, with your own Egyptologist guide.
Our Egypt day tours start at $50 per person for the Giza Pyramids and Saqqara, entrance fees included. A Grand Egyptian Museum or Dahshur day in Cairo is $90–$99 before tickets, Abu Simbel from Aswan is $100, a Luxor sunrise balloon $95, and Red Sea snorkeling $60–$65. Hotel pickup is always included.
A day tour is the simplest way to see Egypt's great sites without booking a full package. Every trip on this page starts and ends at your hotel, or at your Nile cruise ship in Luxor and Aswan, so it fits around a beach week in Hurghada, a few nights in Cairo or a free day on a cruise.
The sightseeing days are private: your own air-conditioned car, your own Egyptologist and a pace set by your group. The balloon and the snorkeling boats are shared, which is why they cost less. Avicon Travel is a licensed agency based in Luxor, so you are booking with a local team, not a desk abroad.
Length, place, type and starting price for every day tour we run, grouped by city. Prices are per person and read straight from each tour page, so this table always matches what you book.

For a first visit, the Giza Pyramids and Saqqara tour covers the three pyramids, the Sphinx and Djoser's Step Pyramid in six to eight hours. The Grand Egyptian Museum stands about two kilometers from the pyramids, so the GEM and Pyramids tour fits Tutankhamun's treasures and the plateau into one day. With a second day, Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur shows where pyramid building began, and the Nile dinner cruise closes any sightseeing day.
Yes. Abu Simbel is about 280 kilometers south of Aswan, three to three and a half hours each way through the desert. Private tours usually leave around 4:00 am, reach the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari before the heat, and are back in Aswan by early afternoon. The private car is $100 per person and the private minivan $90, with the guide and entrance fees included.
It is if you are on the Red Sea and have one day for ancient Egypt, but it is a long one: about four hours each way and 14 to 16 hours door to door. You see Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon, with lunch and entrance fees in the $110 price. With a night in Luxor, you can add the sunrise balloon.
You cross the Nile by boat before dawn and fly for 30 to 60 minutes over the West Bank as the sun comes up: the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple, the Colossi of Memnon and the fields along the river. A place in a shared basket is $95; a private basket is quoted on request. Flights are licensed by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, and if weather cancels yours, we rebook or refund.
Choose by where you are staying. Orange Bay leaves from Hurghada for the Giftun islands, with calm shallow water and a white-sand beach that suit families and beginners, at $60 per adult and $30 per child. Ras Mohammed leaves from Sharm El Sheikh for Egypt's first national park, with two stops at its reef walls, at $65 per adult and $35 per child.
October to April is the best season for sightseeing, because the temples and the Giza plateau are far cooler, and an early start still helps in any month. The balloon also flies best from October to April. The Red Sea is the other way round: the snorkeling trips run all year, but the water is warmest from May to October.
The sightseeing tours are private: in Cairo, to Abu Simbel and from Hurghada to Luxor you have your own car and guide, and the times can move to suit you. The balloon is a shared basket unless you ask for a private one, and the snorkeling trips are on shared boats with the crew.
Yes, on all nine. We collect you from hotels in Cairo and Giza, from your hotel or cruise ship in Luxor and Aswan, from hotels in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh, and for the Luxor day trip from Makadi Bay, El Gouna, Soma Bay and Safaga as well.
On most tours, yes: Giza and Saqqara, Abu Simbel, the Luxor day trip from Hurghada, and the island or park fees on both snorkeling trips. On the Grand Egyptian Museum tour tickets are added when you book, and on the Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur trip they are paid at the sites.
Lunch is included on the Luxor day trip from Hurghada and on both snorkeling boats, and the dinner cruise has an open buffet. On the Cairo tours lunch is optional, Abu Simbel has an optional lunch box, and the balloon does not include a meal.
Most Cairo tours and both snorkeling trips pick up around 8:00 am. Abu Simbel leaves Aswan around 4:00 am, the Luxor day trip leaves the Red Sea around 5:00 am, and the balloon collects you before dawn. We confirm the exact time before your tour.
Yes. On the snorkeling trips children aged 5 to 11 pay a child price and infants usually join free, and the Cairo museum and pyramid tours are paced for families. For the balloon, tell us in advance about young children so we can check with the operator.
No. The stops at Orange Bay and Ras Mohammed are in calm, shallow water, the crew gets in with you, and masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets are on board. At Orange Bay, non-swimmers can stay in the shallows or on the beach.
Yes. The Luxor balloon is an optional extra on our 4-day cruise from Aswan to Luxor, Abu Simbel is an optional $90 excursion on the 3-night Aswan and 4-night Luxor cruises, and the dinner cruise is part of the first evening of the 7-day Cairo and Hurghada holiday.
