Fifteen tours that start at your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise ship: the temples of the East Bank, the royal tombs of the West Bank, a sunrise balloon, the temples north and south of the city, and one- to three-day trips to Aswan, Abu Simbel and Cairo. We are based in Luxor, so these are the tours we know best.
From $60 per person for the East Bank, $70 for the West Bank and $125 for both in one day, in a group of 9 to 16. For two to four people the same tours cost $105, $125 and $225 each. Lunch, entrance fees, a private guide and hotel pickup are included. The balloon is $95.
Luxor was Thebes, the capital of Egypt at the height of the New Kingdom, and it holds more of the great monuments than anywhere else in the country. The city is split by the Nile: temples of the living on the East Bank, tombs and mortuary temples on the West Bank. Most visitors need two days to see both properly.
Every tour on this page picks you up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor. The sightseeing tours are private, with your own Egyptologist guide and air-conditioned car, so the price per person depends on how many of you there are. Avicon Travel's office is in Karnak, so the guides and drivers are our own local team.

Prices change a little over Christmas and New Year (20 December to 4 January) and again from 5 January to 25 March 2027; each tour page lists all three seasons. The East Bank, where the city is, holds the temples built for the gods: Karnak and Luxor Temple. The West Bank, across the river, was the city of the dead: the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Each side takes about a day to see well.
Yes, the highlights. The East and West Bank tour covers Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon in one long day with lunch in between. If you have two days, split it: one bank each day, with time to look properly.
A sunrise balloon over the West Bank, the Karnak sound and light show on an evening, and a second West Bank day for the Valley of the Queens, Medinet Habu and the Ramesseum. For a full day out of the city, Dendera and Abydos have the best-preserved carvings in Egypt.
If you are taking a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, skip the road trip: every cruise stops at both temples. The day trip suits travelers who are staying in Luxor and not cruising, or who want to see the two temples with their own guide at their own pace.
Yes. Aswan is a day trip by first-class train. Abu Simbel needs two days, with a night in Aswan. Cairo and the pyramids are a short domestic flight away: in a day, or over two or three days with a 5-star hotel night, flights included in the price.
Yes. Most of our Luxor tours collect you from your hotel or from your Nile cruise ship moored in Luxor and bring you back at the end. The horse carriage ride and the sound and light show pick up from wherever you are staying in Luxor. Each tour page says where pickup is.
The sightseeing tours are private: your own Egyptologist guide and air-conditioned car, with no other travelers joining. That is why the price per person drops as your group grows. The balloon is a shared basket, and the sound and light show is watched with other visitors.
On the sightseeing tours, yes: the price includes the entrance fees for the sites listed on each tour page, plus lunch at a local restaurant. Extra tickets inside a site, such as a special tomb, are paid on the day. Each tour page lists exactly what is included and what is not.
October to April, when days are warm rather than hot. From May to September Luxor is very hot, so plan the walking for the early morning and take the afternoon slowly. The temples and tombs are open all year, so every tour on this page runs in every season.
If you have one day, the East and West Bank tour, which covers Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple. With two days, take the West Bank and East Bank tours on separate days and add the balloon at sunrise on one of them.
Send a booking request from the tour page with your date and the number of adults and children, or message us on WhatsApp. Our team in Luxor replies within 24 hours to confirm the booking, the pickup time and any questions about the day.
