How Do Nile Cruise Prices Change by Season?
Season is the biggest factor in what you pay. May to September is the low season and the cheapest by far. From October 1 prices rise by roughly half or more, stay there through March, and peak between December 20 and January 4. On the 4-night cruise from Luxor, a couple pays $785 each in summer and $1,170 in winter.

Why Do Couples Pay More Per Person Than Groups?
Nile cruise prices are per person and fall as the group grows, because the guide, transfers and vehicles are shared between more travelers. Groups of 9 to 16 get the lowest rate, groups of 5 to 8 pay slightly more, and parties of 2 to 4 pay about a quarter more per person than the largest groups.

How Much Does a Solo Traveler Pay?
Solo travelers pay a single-occupancy price, which is roughly 1.7 times the per-person rate for a couple on the same sailing. On the 3-night cruise from Aswan, a solo place costs $1,230 from May to September and $1,775 from October to March. The cheapest solo option we list is $910, on the Off the Beaten Path cruise in summer.
What Is Included in a Nile Cruise Price?
Every cruise price on our site includes your cabin, full board on the boat, the sightseeing excursions with an Egyptologist guide, the entrance fees to the sites on the itinerary, air-conditioned transfers, and service charges and taxes. Tips, drinks and personal expenses are extra, and so are international flights and your Egypt visa.

How Much Does It Cost to Add Abu Simbel?
Abu Simbel is not included in any Nile cruise price. On the 3-night cruise from Aswan and the 4-night cruise from Luxor it is an optional excursion from $90 per person, covering the entrance ticket, the guide and a private vehicle. On any other cruise, you can add a private day tour from Aswan before or after the boat.
The private Abu Simbel day tour from Aswan starts from $90 per person by minivan or $100 by car, with entrance fees, an Egyptologist guide and private transport included.
Are Five-Star Ships or Dahabiyas More Expensive?
The named five-star ships start between $780 and $1,125 per person and sail on set weekly departure days. Our two private dahabiyas, smaller traditional sailing boats chartered for your group alone, start at $945 for three nights from Aswan and $1,050 for four nights from Luxor, and can start on any day of the week.
For most first-time visitors, the standard 5-star cruises at $480 to $560 cover the same major temples as the premium ships. The extra money on a named ship or a dahabiya buys the boat itself: the cabins, the service and, on a dahabiya, having the deck to yourselves.
What Does a Nile Cruise Cost for a Real Trip?
A couple on the 4-night cruise from Luxor in January pays $2,340 together, or $2,520 with Abu Simbel added for both. A family of five on the 3-night cruise from Aswan in summer pays $2,700. A solo traveler on the classic Luxor to Aswan cruise in November pays $1,700.
