Tour Route
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Five places in nine days - Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Luxor - with the long legs flown.
Your representative meets you inside Cairo airport and takes care of the paperwork before you reach the arrivals hall, then drives you to your hotel. In the evening, a dinner cruise on the Nile with a belly dancer and a Tanoura show.
The pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, then the Grand Egyptian Museum with the Tutankhamun galleries. Lunch is included.
North to the coast: the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa cut three levels into the rock, Pompey's Pillar, the Qaitbay Citadel standing where the Pharos lighthouse once did, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Back in Cairo by evening.
The flight south after breakfast, then the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk still lying in the quarry where it cracked, and Philae Temple on its island. Night in Aswan.
An early start for the drive through the desert to the two temples Ramses II cut into the cliff, and his queen's beside them, then back to Aswan.
North to Luxor, and the afternoon at Karnak and Luxor Temple. Night in Luxor.
The Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon, then the flight back to Cairo.
The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, then the older city: the Hanging Church, the Mosque of Amr Ibn Al Aas - the first mosque built in Africa - and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, all within a few streets of one another.
Breakfast, then the transfer to Cairo airport.
